INTERNATIONAL

1. Deutsche Gesselschaft fur Internationale Zussammenarbeit (GIZ)

GmbH GIZ is an international company owned by the German federal government operating in various fields in more than 130 countries. GIZ generally works with state governments, state institutions and the private sector. GIZ operates on the basis of general benefit for the realization of sustainable development. All surplus generated by GIZ is channeled back to projects of international sustainable development. The cooperation that has been conducted with MAP UGM is: (1) Analysis of Institutions, Organizations and Training in East Kalimantan Province, 2008; (2) Mapping on Problems and Constraints in the Implementation of Minimum Service Standards (in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs Research and Development Agency), August 2012-February 2013.  

2. Asian Development Bank (ADB)

ADB is a multilateral development financial institution dedicated to reducing poverty in Asia and the Pacific. This bank was founded in 1966 with 31 member countries and has now grown to 63 countries. The head office is located on 6 ADB Avenue, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila, Philippines, with representative offices spread throughout the world.

3. Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)

JICA is an institution established by the Japanese government to assist the development of developing countries. This institution was under the authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was established in August 1974. This institution was also intended to enhance international cooperation between Japan and other countries. On October 1, 2003 this institution was made into an independent administrative institution. JICA helps develop the government by providing technical assistance and non-binding funds. The aim of JICA is to develop human power in developing countries or strengthen organizations, assist in developing countries’ development policies, and conduct research for basic plans or the possibility of carrying out handling operations. The cooperation that has been conducted with MAP UGM is: (1) Preparation of bureaucratic reform agenda, namely Civil Servants Management and Rightsizing Policy in Indonesia, 2004; (2) Asian Leadership and Management Development in 7 ASEAN Countries, 2013-2015.

4. United Nations Development Program (UNDP)

UNDP or the United Nations Development Program Agency is the largest multilateral organization providing technical assistance and development in the world, founded in 1965. UNDP is based in New York City and is the largest organization in the United Nations. This organization is funded by donors. These donors usually help provide experts and advisors, training, and development equipment for developing countries, by adding assistance to developing countries. The cooperation that has been done with MAP UGM is: (1) Problem Analysis Analysis of Law No. 24/2007 concerning Disaster Management, 2007; (2) Distribution of Affairs between the Government, Provincial Government and District Government, 2012.

5. Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID)

AusAID was once an Australian Government institution responsible for managing Australia’s foreign aid program. On October 31, 2013, AusAID was no longer an executive agent and was integrated into the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). The aim of this aid program is to help developing countries to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development, in line with Australia’s national interests. AusAID provides advice and support to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in terms of development policies and planned and coordinated poverty reduction activities in partnership with developing countries. AusAID’s headquarters are in Canberra, with representatives at 25 Australian diplomatic missions abroad. The cooperation that has been carried out with UGM MAP is: (1) Knowledge to Policy (under the coordination of the University of Canberra), in 2012; (2) Development of Policy Analyst Functional Position (under the coordination of Knowledge Sector Initiatives), 2015.

6. United States Agency for International Development (USAID)

USAID is an independent body of the United States government that is responsible for assistance in the economic, development and humanitarian fields of other countries in the world in supporting US foreign policy goals. In supporting the regional decentralization process in Indonesia, USAID programs include supporting the improvement of local services and budgeting planning in the sectors of handling and processing natural resources and health. The cooperation that has been carried out with UGM MAP is: (1) Scholarship Socialization and Recruitment of Prospective Scholarship Recipients for Masters Programs in the United States; (2) Training and Assistance for Regulatory Impact Analysis, collaboration with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs.

7. University of Agder, Norway

The University of Agder is one of seven public universities in Norway. The campus is located in Kristiansand and Grimstad, founded in 1994 as a university college by combining 6 faculties. His status as a tertiary institution was obtained in 2007, but his own academic activities began long ago, since 1839. The cooperation that has been conducted with MAP UGM is: (1) Transparency of Local Government in the Field of Budgeting, Policy Making and Procurement of Goods and Services, 2006-2007; (2) Preparation Study of REDD Plus Implementation in Indonesia, 2008-2009; (3) Visiting Undergraduate and Master Students for Doing Research in Indonesia, 2008-present; (4) In Search of Balance Project, 2013-2017.

8. Deutsche Universität für Verwaltungswissenschaften Speyer (German University of Administrative Science Speyer)

The German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer used to be known as the German School of Administrative Sciences), is a graduate school in the field of public management and administrative science. Located in Speyer, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Founded in 1947 by the French occupation government, it now operates under the joint responsibility of the Federal Republic (Bund) and 16 German states (Länder). Have master, doctoral, postgraduate certificate, and administers programs of executive education programs. The collaboration that has been carried out with UGM MAP is: Professor’s visit to give lectures.

9. Deutsches Forschungcsintitut fur Offentliche Verwaltung Speyer (German Research Institute for Public Administration / GRIP, Speyer)

The German Research Institute for Public Administration is a non-university research institution located in Speyer, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Established in 1976 as an independent organization under the jurisdiction of Minister-President of Rhineland-Palatinate. Widely integrated and establish strategic partnerships with the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer. As an institution with national interests, this institution is part of the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Scientific Community and is funded by the Federal Republic and 16 German states.

10. Ritsumeikan University

Ritsumeikan University is a private university in Kyoto, Japan. In addition to the main campus called Kinugasa Campus, the university also has several branch campuses such as the Biwako-Kusatsu Campus (BKC) in Kusatsu, Shiga Prefecture, and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) in Beppu, Oita Prefecture which is an international campus. The collaboration with MAP UGM is the implementation of the Master Linkage Program with postgraduate institutions at Ritsumeikan University, namely the Graduate School of International Relations (GSIR) and the Graduate School of Policy Science (GSPS), starting in 2015.

11. National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS)

GRIPS is a policy science institution in Japan that has produced a number of policy makers in various countries. GRIPS has established good collaboration with relevant institutions in Indonesia, for example the Ministry of Administrative Reform, the State Administration Agency, the Domestic Government College, and the UGM MAP itself. This collaboration revolves around the issue of knowledge management, and local and national government innovations. The cooperation that has been carried out with MAP UGM is (1) Collaboration of Researchers of UGM MAP and GRIPS for “Asian Leadership and Management Development in Asian Countries”; (2) The implementation of the Master Linkage Program, starting in 2015.

12. The Graduate University of Kobe University’s International Cooperation Studies (GSICS-KU)

GSICS-KU is a graduate school at Kobe University, for an international cooperation science program. In it are topics related to public policy. GSICS-KU has collaborated with the UGM International Relations Department, and has experience in providing international classes on the topics of international trade and global governance. The cooperation that has been carried out with the MAP-UGM is the implementation of the Master Linkage Program, starting in 2015.

13. National University of Singapore (NUS)

NUS is located in Kent Ridge, southwest of Singapore. The university has a campus of 1.5 km² and is the largest university in Singapore based on the number of students and programs offered. In 2000, AsiaWeek magazine (now no longer published) named NUS as one of the best universities in Asia. The collaboration that has been carried out with UGM MAP is a collaboration of UGM MAP researchers with researchers in four ASEAN countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam) on the topic of Governance and Management in 5 ASEAN Countries, 2012-2015.

14. University of Melbourne (UniMelb)

UniMelb is located in Melbourne, Victoria (Australia). It is the second oldest university in Australia, and the oldest in Victoria. The main campus is located in Parkville, north of downtown Melbourne. The University of Melbourne holds the top rankings in Australian and world university rankings. In the fields of social sciences, cultural sciences and biomedicine, this university has a high reputation. The cooperation conducted with MAP UGM is (1) Cooperation of researchers at the UGM MAP for the Workshop on Social Policy in Indonesia, 2014; (2) Cooperation in the Development of Policy Analyst Functional Position, 2015; (3) Cooperation of Training of Trainers in Melbourne, April 2015.

15. Australian National University (ANU)

ANU is a university located in Canberra, the capital of Australia. One of the best universities in Australia, ANU was ranked 23rd of the 200 best universities in the world by Times Higher Education Supplement. In addition, in the same ladder, ANU also ranked 10th for arts and humanities. At present ANU and MAP UGM are developing the Master Linkage Program at both universities.
